Our South African company, False Bay Vineyards forms part of our Boutinot
Own Production portfolio. We first visited the region 20 years ago and
simply fell in love with it – its huge potential for quality and
spectacular vineyards. We are proud to build on our experience and relationships
with growers and aim to bring wines with varietal typicity to the market.
Meticulous sourcing of grapes and a non-interventionist approach in the
winery has established our brands amongst a wide audience throughout the
world.
Winemaker, Werner Engelbrecht and CEO Jean du Toit believe our products
and services should be of such a quality that we command respect, confidence
and loyalty. Our primary production objective is the delivery of the best
quality wines we can create. Brand building is a key element in our strategy
and it is based on the principle to offer the consumer the opportunity
to experience genuine quality at all price points.
Our objective is to gain presence, respect and a loyal following for
our brands in all major markets, whilst retaining our boutique, hand crafted
and personal approach.
Our passion for South Africa resulted in major investment in 2004, with
the purchase of Waterkloof wine farm - one of South Africa's premier vineyard
sites. The 122 hectare estate in Helderberg overlooking the breath-taking
False Bay coastline, completes a long term ambition to develop a flagship
estate, producing wines that will fully express the stated Boutinot wine
making philosophy. The development of a winery and additional plantings
will see Waterkloof established as one of South Africa’s most sought
after wines.
