Meridian Wines
The 'southern European' division of Boutinot Limited, Meridian Wines represents producers from Italy, Spain, Portugal and Austria. With our selection we aim to reflect the range of indigenous grape varieties and diverse wine styles which these countries possess. We represent over 40 different producers, ranging from top individual estates to major producers and co-operatives.

We work closely with many of our producers to ensure that quality, wine styles and packaging are tailored as closely as possible to the needs of the UK market while remaining true to their origins. We are involved in winemaking projects in both Spain (Rioja and Toro) and southern Italy, specifying grape selection, picking time and all aspects of vinification and maturation.

In 2003 we took this process a step further, setting up Adria Vini, a joint winemaking venture owned by Boutinot and Araldica Vini Piemontesi, the leading co-operative in northwest Italy. Adria Vini produces wines from mature, low yielding vineyards in southern Italy, the source of some of Europe's most undervalued and characterful wines. The first Adria releases, from Campania, Abruzzo and Puglia, were launched in mid-2004 under the Ancora and Convivio labels.
