Bodegas Artesa

Bodegas Artesa

Introduction

This large, family-owned estate has elevated hillside vineyards in some of the best zones of Rioja Baja. Vineyards are at an average altitude of 600m, with soils a mixture of iron-rich clay and chalk. The hot and dry Mediterranean climate, combined with the largest day-to-night shift in temperatures experienced in all Rioja, produces consistently ripe, healthy grapes.

Investment in their own vineyards (and a focus on their own high quality fruit, rather than over-reliance on bought-in grapes) combined with modern vinification cellars and good quality oak barrels, allows them to produce a range of wines which over-deliver at their price-point. The Artesa portfolio offers purity of fruit, balanced acidity and a structure and style unique to this distinct location.
